Men To Wolves
From: Hamilton ON
Song: Nightmare
This band formed in June 2011.  The band is Reese on vocals, jordan on guitar & back up vocals, Gerry on guirat, Russ on bass, and Chris on drums.  They formed based on the idea of playing the style of metal they are passionate about.   The show this weekend in Hamilton is also their CD release party!

Core

Song: Open Wide
Song: Best Of Me

Core is: Core, Paul, Kevin, & Mark.  They just recently released their Debut Album.  I played the debut track on show 11.

Persist
From: Guelph Ontario
Song: Don’t Wanna Be
Song: Can You

I was stoked to go see these guys back in August.  Sadly things did not fall into place and I missed the CD release show.   But things are all in place and I can’t wait to see them this weekend.
These guys are fabulous.  Not only have they given me permission to play their music on a number of podcasts, they’ve done bumpers for my show, one for the Justin Wayne show when I played them there, and they’ve done a great one for todays show.

Now based in Guelph, Persist was formed in Toronto in early 2006 by Jerry and Z, The band says that Jerry is the heart and soul of the band.  In the four years that Persist have been together, they have grown into one of Canada’s favorite indie hard rock bands! From Toronto to Las Vegas, from BC to Quebec, to see a list of the places they’ve played is to see a list of the hottest venues. They’ve graced the stages at Legendary Toronto venues like The Sound Academy, Velvet Underground, The Reverb, the Docks, Jeff Healeys Roadhouse, Lee’s Palace, Bovine Sex Club, the Opera House and the Hard Rock Cafe. Across Canada, they’ve performed at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, the Shaw Centre in Edmonton and The Odeon in Saskatoon. And through their recent tour with Five Finger Death Punch and Soulfly, they played their first ever US show at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas!
Among their many accomplishments, Persist have had the fortune to open for such amazing bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Soulfly, All that Remains, Hate Breed, Rains, Die Mannequin and Helix, and have had their music featured on television such as BikerTV and have recently acquired licenses for MTV’s Real World Challenge and more. They have appeared on a over 50 radio stations - online and terrestrial radio including a recent finish in the top 10 for 97.7 Hitz FM’s 25th Anniversary Party Contest and a recent feature on Hamilton’s Y108! Persist have brought their heart and soul to support several benefit shows including shows to benefit Kisses for Haley, The Sick Kids Hospital and the Missing Children Society.

This is their time. Once you hear their sound, you will never forget it! Once you see them, you will know why they stand tall in the limelight!
PERSIST...and the world will listen!

Phone Upgrade

So currently I have an Iphone 4 8Gig.  I've had ups and downs with it.  things i like and don't like.  I'm very use to (and occasionally very frustrated with) the touch screen keyboard.  So looking for any words of wisdom as I  start looking into phone upgrade/updates.

I'm finding the 8 Gig is not enough memory space.  So I need more than that (or expandable memory).
I have an android tablet, and while I'm happy with that for what I'm using it for i'm not 100% sold on switching to android.

What phone do you have?   Why did you choose that?   what do you love about it?   Any problems?

Odium
From: Montreal
Song: Insomnia
Song: No Way Out
Founded in 2006 by drummer Joe Mullen and vocalist Tom Emmans, ODIUM was born in order to create a focused project centered on the themes of growth and attrition. After being joined by bassist Dale Burrows and guitarists Bo Louther and Andrew Fullerton, it was clear the band was quickly becoming a cohesive group of musicians that had found their strengths in each other’s abilities to contribute to the writing process.
Over the years, ODIUM has opened for such well known bands as Alexisonfire, The Agonist, Beneath the Massacre, Divinity, Moneen, Fuck the Facts, Fairwell to Freeway and Arise and Ruin.

The Michael Patrick Band

Out of the “Darkness” and into the “Light”...

Daniel Bryant returns with the release of his sixth full length album,
“MIRROR”.  The double concept album, co-written and produced with Erien
Eady-Ward, skips effortlessly across musical genres as it leads us on an
emotional journey of redemption from “Darkness” to “Light”.
The character driven concept behind the stories of MIRROR carries the
listener from uncomfortable worlds of pain and anger to an almost
spiritual rebirth of love and hope.
As we experience MIRROR’s 2 hour musical odyssey, the compilation of 18
songs allows us a look into the lives of these characters, and at the
same time, encourages a reflection on our own lives.

IR Show 12

Dawn Before Descent
From: Hamilton ON
Song: Understand
Song:Gypsy
Members:
Dean Irvine - Lead Guitar/Vocals
Mike Park - Bass
Loeden Learn - Drums

Shattervox
From: Toronto ON
Song: My Love is Like a River
Song: Before There Was No After
Shattervox kick out the jams with muscular classic rock flair. With a sound so minimal it's monumental, Shattervox's first single "Grand Mal Seizure" carries on the tradition of 60's garage rock and proto-punk acts. Much like their live performances, the debut album "Before There Was No After" carries with it a sense of palpable tension - a nervous energy with a message.

James Hutchison
From: New Waterford, NS
Song: Until I See You
Born and raised on the east coast of Canada, he has always had a fascination for rhythm and melody. Self taught piano and guitar helped him to forge a intimate curiosity with music. While touring Canada with various bands, he found myself writing original music that inspired him to push forward with a career in song writing. With the release of "Until I see You", he hopes to share his passion with the world.

Sunminds

Song: Price for Freedom
Danny Bourassa gives us his second album from his project SUNMINDS. He is accompanied by the talented percussionist Michelle Bouchard and guitarist Mike Coté. The new ep has 6 new songs including a title in French entitled "sleeping forever.’
